WEEN

The Boognish Rises

Genre-defying, decade-spanning, and utterly unlike anything else — Ween have spent 40 years proving that anything goes when you're riding the Boognish.

Meet the Band Discography

Gene & Dean Ween

Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo have been making music together since they met in eighth grade in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Gene Ween

Aaron Freeman

The primary vocalist of the duo, Freeman's voice ranges from tender country ballads to searing psychedelic howls. His songwriting partnership with Melchiondo produced some of the most eclectic and beloved cult music of the past four decades. After a hiatus, he reunited with Ween in 2016.

Dean Ween

Mickey Melchiondo

The guitarist and musical backbone of the group, Melchiondo is regarded as one of the most versatile and underrated guitar players in rock. His ability to authentically inhabit any genre — country, metal, reggae, pop — gives Ween its chameleonic character. He also leads the Dean Ween Group.

The Ween Catalog

Twelve studio albums across every conceivable genre, from lo-fi cassette recordings to lush orchestral productions.

The Boognish

The horned deity that has watched over Ween since the beginning — a symbol of creative freedom, irreverence, and devotion to the bit.

"Ween is a state of mind. The Boognish watches over all."

— Dean Ween

The Boognish is Ween's mascot and spiritual figurehead — a grinning horned silhouette that has appeared on merchandise, tattoos, and fan art for decades. It represents the band's philosophy: commit fully, genre doesn't matter, and always ride the wave wherever it takes you.

Fans who follow Ween call themselves "Weeners" and form one of the most devoted cult followings in rock music. The band reunited in 2016 after a four-year hiatus and have been touring regularly since.
